Differs from Poliopastea and Calonotos in having R2 stalked (perhaps shortly) with R3,4,5, NOT from cell.

55. Genus: Macrocneiiie Hbn.
This genus contains numerous species of mostly very similar insects difficult to discern, of black colour decorated with blue and green metal-colours and very characteristic by the long hindlegs the tibiae and tarsi of which are provided with more or less long-haired scales. The erect palpi extend beyond the head. The antennae with a thickened median part are in the m. long-combed, in the f. mostly serrate-dentate. The neuration does not offer any peculiarities.

Proboscis fully developed; palpi upturned and reaching vertex of hed: antennae with the medial part of shaft dilated, especially in female, bipectinate, the branches dilated at extremity and ending in a bristle, in female minutely serrate or with short branches; tibiae with the spurs moderate; a fringe of hair on distal part of hind tibiae and tarsus; abdomen with lateral tubercles on basal segment, male with ventral valve covering basal segments. Fore wing with vein 3 from well before angle of cell; 4,5 from angle; 6 from upper angle; 7,8,9,10 stalked; 11 from cell. Hind wing with the cell long; veins 2 and 4 from angle or shortly stalked; 3 from 2 near margin; 5 absent; 6,7 from upper angle.
